Ritorno a Musica

String Orchestra

Music for life!

Dedicated to the study and performance of the string literature, Ritorno a Musica provides a friendly, supportive and professional environment for members to improve and broaden their musical skills. The ensemble presents free concerts to the public through area libraries, local houses of worship and senior centers in Northern Virginia.

Members are adults of various musical experience and proficiency. The group provides an opportunity for players to return to the music of their youth; accomplished musicians to seek an opportunity to perform on a second instrument; composers to hear their works performed; musicians to work their way back from an injury and much more.

The group features repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary eras. Ritorno a Musica was founded in 2007 as the Annandale Strings.

Working through COVID challenges

We are excited to announce that as of September 2020, Ritorno a Musica is making music again, all while observing proper masking and distancing procedures. Though the COVID outbreak suspended our 2020 season, we never lost hope that in time we would return to music.

So far, no performances are planned, but we have a full schedule of rehearsals to make music with our friends and keep our skills sharp. We invite you to follow us as we navigate our way through this ‘new normal.’
